The Counsel for Shahid Yousuf, the son of Hizbul Mujhadeen Commander Syed Salahuddin who is languishing in high security Tihar Jail of India has produced a ‘blood-stained’ shirt of Shahid before Patiala Court alleging that his client was ruthlessly beaten up by Tamil Nadu Force guarding the Jail Cells of Tihar. While confirming it, family members told news agency CNS that Shahid was not only abused but mercilessly thrashed by Tamil Nadu Force inside Tihar Jail. Shahid Yousuf was arrested by NIA (National Investigation Agency) on 24 October this year in alleged funding case. He is currently lodged in Jail number one of India’s Tihar Jail. The family members said that incident occurred on November 21. “The Counsel for Shahid was shocked to see his condition when he visited him in Tihar Jail. He informed us that Shahid was beaten to pulp without any reason along with other inmates. Shahid has suffered injuries in his head and shoulder,” the family members said and added that there is a threat to his life in Tihar Jail. “He should be shifted to Srinagar Central Jail because he is targeted for being Kashmiri,” they said. They said that there are visible injury marks on his body. “We were allowed a five minutes meeting with him when he was brought to court today. He looks frail and traumatized.” Meanwhile, New Delhi Court has extended the judicial custody of Shahid Yousuf till December 22 next month. Sources said that Shahid Yousuf was produced before Patiala Court New Delhi, which extended his judicial custody till December 22.
